Sithembele Mnguni


Sithembele Mnguni is a passionate advocate for sustainability, social change, and creating a greener future for all. He was born in Gugulethu, South Africa and spent his formative years in Delft. There, He developed a deep connection with his community and a profound understanding of the challenges they face. He now resides in Khayelitsha.

After matriculating in 2012, Sithembele pursued his passion for engineering and design at West Coast College. Alongside his academic journey, he took classes in firefighting, first aid, health, and safety, preparing himself to contribute to his community's well-being. He aspires to return to school in the future to study social science, armed with the knowledge and insights to lead meaningful change.

Sithembele's heart lies in making a difference in people's lives and protecting the environment he loves. His firsthand experience with poverty inspired him to join the fight for sustainable practices and food security. His commitment to understanding the link between people and the earth led him to ask, "How can we create a sustainable environment for both?"

Beyond his dedication to Chumisa, Sithembele is an avid reader. He immerses himself in books to expand his knowledge and broaden his understanding of sustainable solutions. He also has a soft spot for animals, particularly reptiles and snakes, appreciating their unique role in the ecosystem.

Sithembele's unwavering dedication to Chumisa Community Composting is a testament to his vision of creating lasting positive change and fostering a sustainable environment for people and the earth.
