Support Chumisa!
We are beyond excited to share with you our household vermicomposting initiative. With your support, we'll be able to provide participating households with everything they need to start their vermicomposting journey – from the bins to the amazing little creatures, the worms!
Khayelitsha is an apartheid-created township near Cape Town, South Africa. The community embodies resilience in the face of formidable challenges. It battles unemployment exceeding 50%, and basic needs are often hard to come by. Our initiative provides a sustainable solution that sparks both environmental and economic progress. Join us in empowering Khayelitsha through vermicomposting!
In the context of Khayelitsha's high unemployment, our initiative takes on a deeper significance. We'll use workshops to help each household feel confident and informed about vermicomposting. Together, we'll make sure their vermicompost is the absolute best it can be! We'll be both contributing to our planet's health and bringing economic prosperity to local households.
Your generous contributions will make a world of difference in reaching our goal of raising $5,000. With this funding, we'll be able to kickstart Household Vermicomposting programs in 30 households in 2024.
But it doesn't end there. Our commitment to Khayelitsha goes beyond vermicomposting. We'll keep nurturing other composting programs that benefit our wonderful community.
By donating, you will play a crucial role in:
Providing compost bins, worms, and education materials to households.
Creating green job opportunities, for both composters and dedicated collectors.
Nurturing a greener, more resilient future for generations to come.
