Adam Kay

Adam is a biology professor based in St. Paul, MN. Adam’s research focuses on sustainable food systems and urban agriculture with the aim of addressing social and environmental challenges. His life mission is to reduce disparities. Adam started coming to Cape Town in 2018 to start integrating university education with community-based urban agriculture development in under-resourced communities. He is most excited about Chumisa because of its strong focus on authentic relationships. He loves his family, punk rock, and existentialist literature. He particularly dislikes automobile infrastructure, monoculture lawns (especially when people golf on it), use of the word ‘utilize,’ and many other things which he would gladly tell you about over a beer.
